App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mycrogrid, Incorporated (“Mycrogrid,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information through the Mycrogrid mobile application and related online portal (the “App”). It applies to all customers who use the App, regardless of location.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide the App:

Account and identity information. Your name and email address, used to sign you in and identify your account.

Installation address. The address of the property where your energy system is installed, used to identify which system belongs to you.

Energy and equipment data. Production, consumption, battery state, and equipment health data for your system. This is the core function of the App. Some of this data is drawn from the systems of the equipment manufacturers whose hardware is installed at your property (for example, your battery or inverter manufacturer).

Manufacturer system identifiers. Identifiers that link your Mycrogrid installation to the manufacturer account that reports its data, used to retrieve your system’s information.

Documents. Agreements, plans, warranties, and invoices associated with your system.

Diagnostics and crash data. Technical information about App performance, used to identify and fix faults in the App.

How we use your information

We use this information to operate the App, show you your system’s performance, provide support and service, maintain your documents and system records, and improve the App’s reliability. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share your information

We share information only as needed to provide the App:

• With equipment manufacturers, we exchange the manufacturer system identifier needed to retrieve your system’s data from their platform.
• With our error-monitoring vendor, we share diagnostics and crash data used to fix faults in the App.

We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

Data retention and account deletion

You can request deletion of your account at any time, both from within the App (in account settings) and through our web deletion request page at mycrogrid.com/app/delete-account. You do not need to call, email, or file a support ticket to delete your account.

When you delete your account, we remove your personal identity information, including your name, email address, and the association between you and your installation. We retain the energy and equipment operating history associated with the installed system itself, with your identifying information removed, as a record of the equipment for warranty, service, and system-history purposes. This retained data is no longer linked to your identity.

We will confirm your deletion request and tell you the timeframe in which it will be completed.

Your choices and rights

You may access and update your account information in the App, and you may request account deletion as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law; contact us at [email protected] to exercise them.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you certain rights regarding your personal information. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them.

Categories of personal information we collect. In the past twelve months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as described in the “Information we collect” section above: identifiers (name, email address, installation address, and manufacturer system identifiers); customer records (documents such as agreements, warranties, and invoices); internet or electronic activity (diagnostics and crash data); and energy and equipment data associated with your system. We collect this information from you directly and from the equipment manufacturers whose systems are installed at your property.

Purposes. We use these categories to provide and operate the App, show you your system’s performance, provide support and service, maintain your records, and improve the App’s reliability, as described in “How we use your information” above.

Categories shared. We share manufacturer system identifiers with equipment manufacturers to retrieve your system’s data, and diagnostics and crash data with our error-monitoring vendor to fix faults in the App, as described in “How we share your information” above. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.

Your California rights. Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; request deletion of your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share, so no opt-out is needed). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

How to exercise your rights. To make a request, contact us at [email protected] or use the account deletion options described in “Data retention and account deletion” above. We will confirm your request and respond within the timeframe required by law. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children and is intended for use by Mycrogrid customers who are adults.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
