Accessibility
Energy independence should not have an entry requirement. This statement explains how we build this website to be usable by as many people as possible, what we know still needs work, and how to reach a person who will help you directly.

Our commitment
Mycrogrid® is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology.
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by most accessibility regulations in the United States. We treat that standard as an ongoing target rather than a finish line: this site is actively maintained, and accessibility is reviewed as part of that maintenance rather than as a one-time project.
We have not sought or received third-party certification of conformance, and we do not use an accessibility overlay or automated accessibility widget. We prefer to fix the underlying site.
What we have built in
The following are in place across this website today:
- Keyboard navigation. Every menu, button, form field, and link can be reached and operated without a mouse, and a “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
- Visible focus. Whatever you are currently on is clearly outlined as you move through a page with the Tab key.
- Logical structure. Each page has a single main heading, headings in sequential order, and standard page landmarks, so screen reader users can navigate by heading or region instead of reading top to bottom.
- Labeled forms. Every field on our contact form is programmatically labeled and identifies whether it is required.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, our animations and background video stop automatically.
- Touch targets. Buttons and links are sized for comfortable tapping on phones.
- Text alternatives. Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you what is imperfect than claim a standard we have not fully met. As of the date above, we are aware of and actively working on the following:
- Color contrast. We intentionally retain a bright orange button treatment with white labels in parts of the brand system. That pairing does not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio that WCAG 2.1 AA requires for normal-sized text, so we do not claim full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. This is a known visual tradeoff; the site continues to provide dark-text alternatives, visible focus states, keyboard access, and direct phone and email support where a visual barrier gets in someone’s way.
- Horizontally scrolling panels. A small number of wide elements — the service comparison table, the lifecycle timeline, and the chapter list — can be scrolled sideways with a mouse or finger but cannot yet be scrolled with a keyboard alone.
- Star ratings. On our reviews page, star ratings are currently announced incompletely by some screen readers. The written review text is unaffected and reads correctly.
- Background video. The video on our home page plays automatically and does not yet offer a visible pause control. It is silent, and it does not play at all if your device requests reduced motion.
We also embed content from third parties, including an interactive service-area map and review content sourced from Google. We do not control the accessibility of those services. If third-party content blocks you from something you need, contact us and we will provide the same information another way.
If something is in your way
You do not need to wait for us to fix the site. Anything you can do on this website, we can do with you over the phone, including reviewing service options, discussing pricing, and starting a consultation.

When you contact us, it helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using — but none of that is required. Tell us what happened in whatever form is easiest for you.
How we respond
We read every accessibility message a person sends us, and we respond as quickly as we can. You will get a direct answer about the underlying issue — either a fix, a plan to fix it, or an honest explanation of why we are unable to resolve it.
If you contacted us and were not satisfied with the response, ask for the office manager and your message will be escalated. We treat accessibility feedback as a service issue, not a support ticket.
